It is only a couple of weeks now to Mother’s Day. Celebrated on the fourth Sunday in lent it falls on 30th March this year. A Christian tradition for returning to ‘mother church’ where people were baptized, has evolved into a day to celebrate mothers and those females who care for others. Showing appreciation for all they do with flowers, gifts, cards and even special meals, like a special afternoon tea. Here I am featuring luxury handmade cards around this popular theme.
The fabulous tea and cakes card featured first is a perfect card for Mum, whether there is an invite for afternoon tea out or maybe a special meal at home with family, these scrumptious cakes will certainly get her taste buds going.
I loved hand painting these fancy cakes and sandwiches, creating a few of my own delicious treats in the process. With tea served in a floral-patterned china tea set, and a message ‘With Love’ inside the card it really is an afternoon delight.
Taken from my 2025 Teatime Calendar, this design was featured for February, as red roses are usually associated with Valentines. But I thought this ‘Red Roses Teatime Card’ with its stunning china cup and saucer in a circle of hearts, roses and butterflies, hand-cut and mounted on the card, would also make a beautiful luxury card for Mother’s Day! And guess what … you get a delicious, decorated muffin too!
Thinking of Spring and Eastertime with the glow of yellow daffodils this ‘Afternoon Tea Card’ will brighten up Mum’s Day! Having a beautiful water coloured floral pattered cup of tea, hand-cut and mounted next to a fabulous iced muffin, comes to life with a few added sparkles on scalloped edged card!
Saying ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ with a cup of tea is very British and a great tradition. A hand-painted floral design in lilacs, blues and pinks covers this china cup and cupcake case. With a sprinkling of hundreds and thousands and a cherry on top, this cake is going to be delicious!
I must admit that tea tastes better out of a china & saucer than an everyday mug. Here’s another beautiful ‘Pink Teacup and Saucer Card ‘for you to choose from in this popular theme. This soft pink floral design says ‘To Mum’ ‘Have a Lovely Day’ and inside is a small heart with the message ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ The luxury detail is a handcut cup and saucer mounted in relief for a 3D effect.
My sixth Mother’s Day card is to a Special Mum! The ‘Magnolia Teatime Card’ has one of my favourite flowers, which unfortunately only blooms for a short time, but is stunning in tones of pink and white. The design is also featured in my 2025 Calendar for the month of May. A very pretty scene with a circle of blossom, magnolia and forget-me-nots surrounding this decorative cup and saucer. The delicious cupcake with a cherry on the top is also set inside the card with the message ‘With Love’.
Finally the last card featured is This Summer Garden Teatime Handmade Card a real treat for Mum on Mother’s Day! A delicious cupcake with a pretty china cup and saucer is set in a circle of hand-painted flowers, white delphiniums, pink and lilac clematis, and soft lemon roses. A few butterflies and bees are hovering around with purple and pink glass gems to add sparkle. Another design from my 2025 calendar a July delight!
Inside the card is a hand-cut muffin saying, ‘With Love’. A special surprise on Mother’s Day!
